Donn Briden Spence

July 25, 2006

Surrounded by his family and friends, Donn Briden Spence (lovingly known as “Poppa Donn”) passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, July 25, 2006.

Born in  a Saskatchewan blizzard on Jan 11, 1932, Donn moved to B.C. when he was 5 years old.

In 1952 Donn was hired by Government telephone and went on to work 34 years for BC Tel, receiving the prestigious honour of being named a “telephone pioneer”.

The only thing Donn loved more than flying and fishing was his family.

He is lovingly remembered and missed by his wife Audrey, their children Donn Jr. (September), Sylvia  (Gord), Harry (Laurel), Shauneen (Jim), Larry (Raegan), grandchildren Jordan, Cherie, Audrey, Briden, Rayce, Leanne, Katie, Jessica, Casey Chayse and greatgrandchild Kyler.

A private family celebration was held in his honour.  Memorial donations can be made to the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation  or the Canadian Cancer Society.
