David Alwyn Russell

Russell Ñ David Alwyn passed away Sept. 13, 2003 in St. Paul’s hospital in Vancouver at 72 years of age.

Born in Comox, B.C. on Oct. 31, 1930 to his English mother, Daisy, and Scottish father, Hugh. He moved to the Bulkley Valley in 1958 and was involved in various businesses during his working life. In 1959, Dave married Christel (Bergter). They had four children, Ingrid (Dave) Yole of Burns Lake, B.C., Ed of Fort St. John, B.C., Earl who is in Japan, Andrea (Norman) Hidber of Telkwa, B.C. and then three beautiful grandchildren, Sabrina, Meghan and Simon. Dave is also survived by his brothers Quinton and Don, two sisters, Sheila and Jean. Dave was predeceased by brother Norman. Dave is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003 in the R.A. Schrader Funeral Home Chapel with son-in-law Dave Yole officiating at 10 a.m. Mrs. Mary Spicer played the organ and sang Time to Say Goodbye. Interment will be in the Smithers columbarium in December when son Earl comes home.
