Cynthia spent her elementary school years in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, her junior secondary years in Goosebay, Labrador. She attended high school in Burns Lake, B.C.

In 1952, she returned to the East coast and joined the RCAF. Later she moved back to the West and worked at the train office in Jasper for 14 years. She and her husband moved to Telkwa where she continued to work with the CNR in Smithers.

After retirement from the CNR she was involved in the drama club, enjoyed line dancing, crib, and bowling, but her real passion was for golf. She was a member of the Smithers Golf Club and served as the Ladies Club Captain and as Director of the main club. She also became involved in the B.C. Senior Games Association. Last year, she was elected First Vice President of the Senior Games Society of B.C.

Cynthia is survived by her husband Thomas Meier, daughter Shirley (Al) Latchford, three grandchildren Brian, Suzie, and Jessica, great-granddaughter Cheyanna, two brothers, two sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held at the Telkwa Seniors Hall on Wednesday, Mar. 12, 2003.
