Cor Vandermaal

Cor passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer. The funeral was held Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 with Father Frank Kuczera, OMI officiating, music by Mary Spicer.
He was born in Amsterdam, Holland, and immigrated to Canada in 1954. He settled in Smithers where Cor and Mary were wed and raised their family.
Cor was well known in the community for his countless hours of volunteer work. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Cor is survived by his loving wife Mary, daughters Debbie (Jack) Thomas, Marcia (Ken) Giddings, son Marc (Holly) and grandchildren Megan Thomas, Adrian and Kara Giddings. Also survived by his sisters Hennie, Thea, Nolda and Tonia.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Venter, Dr. Blauw, the nurses and support staff at Bulkley Valley Hospital and the Bulkley Lodge for the care Cor received. Our heartfelt thanks to family and friends for their donations of food, flowers and cards, and most especially for their love and support.
