Catherine Elizabeth
Sommerfeld-Roach of South Hazelton, passed away on May 20, 2003, af ter a courageous battle with cancer. Catherine was born in Hazelton on November 17, 1964, and spent most of her life in the Hazel ton area. Following her high school graduation in Williams Lake, Cathy returned to this area, and met her life-long partner Ed Roach. Cathy and Ed had two sons, Luke and Zackary, age 12 and 7 respectively. Cathy worked at numerous jobs most of her adult life, but her main focus was her husband, children, and her friends. A free spirit, Cathy attracted and held many friends. She never for got how it felt to be young and many of her good friends were young people. Her zest for life was enjoyed by every one. She will be truly missed.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband Ed, and her two sons Luke and Zachary, her mother Sharon, and step-father Randy Rawluk, her father Ed Sommerfeld, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, her grandmother Rita Phillips, numerous aunts uncles, and cousins, and a multitude of many dear friends.
The funer al service was held on Monday, May 26, at St. Mary’s Cathol ic Church, with Father Gor don Cook of ficiat ing, and the eulo gy was read by her dear friend, Jan Roberts. The pall bearers were Syllvia Joe, Carmen Joe, Jasmine Joe, Alisha Walters, Wanda Brown, Brandi Forsythe, Sal lyLavalle, and Farin Lavalle. Cremation was followed the service.
