In 1961, the family moved to Terrace B.C. and shortly after Bud went to work for department of highways as a welder. He remained working there until his retirement in 1978 at which time Bud and Doris returned to Wadena Sask where Bud came out of retirement and did home renovations and as well as making wooden toys and assorted house hold items, which he sold at farmer markets and craft sales. In 1995, Bud and Doris returned to B.C. and moved to Hazelton where Bud resided until he moved to the Bulkley lodge in Smithers B.C. in the fall of 2011.

Bud enjoyed gardening, baking, wood working, welding and keeping his kids and grand kids on their toes.

The Family would like to thank Dr. Haskins, the staff at the Bulkley Lodge, the Smithers hospital and the Hazelton Hospital for the care and compassion shown to our father and grandfather while he was in their care.
