Alma Helen Wert (nee Johnston)
1944-2014
Alma was taken from her family suddenly in a motor vehicle accident near Quesnel on September 4, 2014.
Alma grew up on a farm in Quick, BC. She completed her schooling in Houston and Smithers and then went on to earn her nursing degree, spending most of her career working in the Enderby and Kamloops hospitals. She married Paul Wert in 1967, who suffered from multiple Sclerosis for most of their married life. She spent her whole life caring for and helping others.
Alma is survived by her younger brothers Kenneth Johnston (Margaret), Ray Johnston (Lorraine) and Thomas Johnston; nephews and nieces David (Mariam) Wakefield, Margaret (Thomas) Blabey, Jack Wakefield, Burton (Tara) Wakefield, Sandra Johnston, Alan (Valerie) Johnston, Dustin Johnston, Tiffany Johnston, Brenda Johnston, Candace McKinley and Tammy (Todd) Larson. Alma was predeceased by her parents Les and Clara Johnston.
Alma will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.
