A single-vehicle crash north of Evelyn slowed traffic on Highway 16 Friday morning.

Smithers RCMP said there were no serious injuries to the three family members in the vehicle.

Emergency crews were called to the scene between Owens Road and Evelyn Station Road just after 11 a.m.

Skid marks on the highway appeared to lead from the northbound lane to the southbound ditch. Police said the Dodge Durango was trying to pass another vehicle, braked hard and rolled several times before coming to a stop in the ditch.

The 36-year-old female driver was issued a ticket for crossing solid double lines.

Police said seatbelts were a factor in reducing the level of injuries.
