It was a rainy day, but kids’ faces were beaming during the celebration for the opening of the new playground at St. Joseph’s School last Thursday.

Over two years, more than $180,000 was raised to construct a new fence, repaving of the basketball courts and sidewalks, installing basketball court lights, building four picnic tables and an outdoor classroom, plus installing new playground equipment.

Wetzin’kwa Community Forest is the platinum sponsor by donating $25,000, which got them a sign at the playground.
